The Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District (District) offers many recycling programs to residents of Hamilton County Below is a list of some of our free resources that yo can request and some of the programs that are available in your community. We are here to help, so give us a call!

Recycling

The District's goal is to reduce the waste stream by providing effective waste reduction, reuse and recycling programs. To learn more about residential recycling visit www.hcdoes.org/sw/recycomm.htm.

  • Recycling Hotline
    For recycling questions or to the receive a free recycling handbook, call our Recycling Hotline at 946-7741.
  • Curbside Recycling
    To receive your curbside bin, contact your municipal building.
  • Bevond the Recycling Bin - Paper Recycling
    Once a month, the District sponsors a paper drop off recycling program. Acceptable item include: cardboard, paperboard (cereal boxes, etc.), junk mail, magazines, phone books, etc. For a complete schedule and times, visit our website at http://www.hcdoes.org/sw/paprrecy.htm. Bring your paper to the following locations:
    • Surrey Square Mall - Norwood
      Behind Thriftway
    • Sharonville - Princeton High School
      Student Parking Lot

Home Safe Home

The District's Home Safe Home program is designed to raise awareness about household hazardous materials. Many of the materials we use to enhance our lives, such as motor oil, cleaning supplies and automotive fluids contribute to the improvement of everyday living, but they can also be hazardous to the environment if they are not disposed of properly.

  • Household Hazardous Materials Hotline
    If you have questions about household hazardous materials, call our hotline at 946-7700.
  • Household Hazardous Materials Handbook
    This 12-page handbook is a free reference guide to locations that will accept and, in mos cases, recycle many of the hazardous materials you no longer need. To request a copy, call the Household Hazardous Materials Hotline at 946-7700 or to download the handbook, visit www.hcdoes.org/sw/hhm.htm.
  • Hazardous Materials Collection Event
    Every three years, the District conducts a free household hazardous materials collection program. To be added to the mailing list, call our hotline at 946-7700.

Yardwaste Management

Yardwaste accounts for over 12% of the waste stream. There are several ways to reduce the amount of yardwaste you throw away. To learn more about managing yardwaste, visit www.hcdoes.org/sw/yardwast.htm.

  • Yardwaste Hotline
    For questions about yardwaste, call our hotline at 946-7755.
  • Free Yardwaste Recycling Drop Offs
    Residents can drop off their yardwaste for free at any of the three recycling drop offs located throughout Hamilton County. Listed below are the drop off locations:
    • East: Evans Landscaping, 3700 Roundbottom Road, Newtown
    • West: Kuliga Park, 6717 Bridgetown Road, Green Township
    • North: Rumpke Sanitary Landfill, Struble and Colerain Avenue, Colerain Township
