GREENHILLS SWIMMING POOL REGULATIONS

1. The Greenhills Swimming Pool is that portion of the grounds surrounding the main pool & the adjoining grass area which is fenced in. It includes the baby pool.

2. The baby pool is for children age 5 & under. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.

3. All swimmers using the pool do so at their own risk. The Village of Greenhills & its employees are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or losses occurring on the pool premises or in connection with pool use.

4. All swimmers must be free from any infectious skin conditions.

5. All persons using the pool must obey the lifeguards & other pool employees.

6. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult or a responsible sitter who is at least 13 years old.

7. All children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers.

8. All swimmers must wear a regulation swimming suit.

9. No glass is permitted anywhere on pool grounds.

10. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the pool area.

11. Small floatation devices are permitted in the shallow end only. Coast Guard approved life jackets may be worn by children throughout the pool if the children are accompanied by an adult.

12. No running, pushing, dunking, or other rough play is permitted.

13. No balls or other objects may be thrown in the swimming pool.

14. No diving from the side of the pool is permitted anywhere around the pool.

15. No chewing gum is permitted anywhere on pool grounds.

16. Offensive or abusive language will not be tolerated.

17. Please do not talk to the lifeguards while they are on duty.

18. Smoking by persons under age 18 is prohibited.

19. Pool lounge chairs are for teenagers and adults only.

20. Pool employees have the right to eject swimmers for violation of these rules or for other improper conduct.

21. The pool will be cleared upon the first sounding of thunder or the first sighting of lightning. Patrons will not be allowed to re-enter the facility until at least 30 minutes after these signs have passed.

22. Lifeguards will blow their whistles at 15 minutes before every hour to clear the pool of children. This time is for adult swimming only. Adults may swim with children 5 & under, but NO children may remain in the pool without an adult. Neither the diving board nor the slide may be used by children at this time.

            DIVING AREA RULES

1. Divers must be able to swim the width of the pool before using the diving boards.

2. Only one person at a time is permitted on the diving board.

3. Only one bounce on the diving board is permitted.

4. Jumping & diving is permitted from the end of the board only, never from the sides.

5. Adults are NOT permitted to catch young children from the diving board. Please ask a lifeguard during adult break only.

6. Floats & swimming aids, including goggles, are not permitted on the diving board.

7. Only forward dives & jumps are permitted. Sitting on or hanging from the diving board, inward dives, back dives, back flips, and other dangerous dives are not permitted.

8. Make sure the previous diver has cleared the area before diving.

9. No swimming is permitted in the diving board area.

10. Diving or jumping from the sides of the deep end is prohibited.

11. The lap lane is for adults only.

 

         SLIDE AREA RULES

1. Swimmers must meet a height requirement before sliding.

2. Only one rider may enter the flume at a time.

3. You must ride feet first, lying on your back or sitting up.

4. No floatation devices are permitted on the slide or in the splash pool.

5. No exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation are permitted.

6. Keep arms & hands inside the flume at all times.

7. Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate, or stop in the slide.

8. Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head straps.

9. You must wait for the attendantŐs signal before starting.

10. At the end of the slide, exit quickly & obey all lifeguard instructions.

11. Do not swim in the splash pool.

12. For safety reasons, pregnant women & persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the slide.

13. Violation of these rules may result in swimmers being prohibited from using the slide.
