Village of Greenhills

Leaf Machine Collection Schedule, Spring 2008

Collection Days - April 1 through April 23

NO LOOSE LEAVES WILL BE PICKED UP AFTER APRIL 23 (until Fall)

Please rake the leaves onto the planting strip in large windrows or large piles within three feet (3') of the edge of the street; any leaves beyond three feet cannot be reached by the suction pick-up hose. DO NOT RAKE LEAVES INTO THE STREET OR STORM SEWERS.  Leaves clogging the storm sewers can cause flooding during heavy rains and pollute Winton Woods lake.  DO NOT RAKE TWIGS, BRANCHES, STICKS, ROCKS, BOTTLES, etc., IN WITH THE LEAVES.  These items can clog up and damage the leaf machine and cause considerable delay to the leaf collection.

We will attempt to collect leaves on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week.  Please have your leaves ready for pick-up BEFORE Tuesday morning.

Remember that we leaves are slippery and are dangerous to pedestrians and bicycle riders.  Please keep sidewalks free of wet leaves.  Situate leaf piles away from trees, signs posts and hydrants if possible, in order to speed collection.  Also try to avoid parking in front of large piles of leaves.  It is difficult for the raking crew to work around parked cars and also slows the leaf collection.

If you have any questions, or if you wish to obtain wood chips, call 825-2100 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The fall loose leaf collection will start October 7, 2008.
